That Feeling of Love

*This post is an entry for the contest organized by You, Me and Shoes*
*For more info about the contest, please go here!*

Hi all.

Do you know that feeling when the crush you've been (not so) secretly eyeing for the longest time ever, finally comes up to you and says 'Hi beautiful,'?

Do you know that feeling when you find out that that said crush who's been attached to some lucky girl since forever, finally becomes single and goes back on the market again, and he texts/calls you wanting to hang out/have a coffee/go watch a (romantic) movie together/have a nice walk on the beach/--insertanymushycutesweetactivitieshere-- with YOU?

Do you know that feeling when the said crush asks you to be with him after going on that date, revealing the fact that the feeling you've been having towards him all these while is mutual, where he's also been crushing on you since like, forever?

Do you?

Do you really?

Well I do.

I get that feeling every single time I spot a pair of gorgeous strappy espadrilles in a blogshop.

I get that feeling every time I spot a girl in a gorgeous pair of fire-engine red pumps in a mall.

I get that feeling every time I see a pair of fierce shiny patent booties in a physical store.

I get that feeling every time I see a guy in an awesome pair of slip-ons, looking all laid-back.

I get that feeling every time I see a girl working it, in a pair of sky-high wedges.

I get that feeling whenever I see a high-schooler saunters happily in a pair of sweet-looking bow-adorned fuschia flats.

I get that feeling whenever I see a working lady strutting confidently in a pair of awesome suede peep-toes.

I get that feeling whenever I see a school teacher doing her thing in a pair of mock-croc patent black court shoes.

I get that feeling when I spot a girl in a seriously beautiful pair of nude, studded pumps, in the LRT.

I get that feeling when I spot a girl walking confidently in a pair of cut-out booties.

I get that feeling when I see a girl in a pair of simple, but outstanding slingbacks.

I get that feeling when I see a baju kurung-clad girl at a kenduri in a pair of demure kitten heels, with snake-skin print.

I get that feeling when I see a teenager in a pair of glorious multi-buckle wedges, worn with simple white tank top & jeans combo.

I get that feeling when I spot a lady wearing a pair of cream d'orsay that simply goes with anything.

I get that feeling when I see a girl at the company dinner, having the time of her life in a pair of fabulous glittery gold pumps.

And I especially get that feeling when I'm wearing a pair of super-fierce gladiator heels.
I feel like I can achieve anything if I put my mind to it!

That feeling, ladies and gentlemen, is love with a capital L.
Love like you've never known before.
Love that strikes you breathless, before you even know of its power.
Love that will keep you up all night. (Okay, that was cheesy, using a line from a Backstreet Boy song),
but I'm trying to express the ohmygoshI'msoinloverightnow feeling.

It (almost) didn't hurt forking out the cash to get these babies.
What's a truckload of cash  when you get to experience the heavenly feeling of owning the Love of your life? Spending seems to come so easily when something you Love keeps crossing your mind oh-so-frequently, every minute of every day.

If you are as obsessed with shoes as I am, you know that feeling.

:)

And now, I'm tagging Along, Gen, Arifah, Hazimah, and Mimi.
Spread the word about this contest (that ends on 24 January 2011, hehe), people!

Yours truly,
Dinie.

Charles & Keith made me update

They are my third pair this month (the first two are both covered 4-inch pumps - nude/tan/brown and chilli red).
They are extremely comfy.
They are about 5 inches high.
They make me feel as if I'm one of those circus people going around walking on poles, tremendously TALL.
They make me feel like a superwoman.
Most importantly, they make me happy :)

p/s: Anybody reading noticed where this picture was taken?
(hint: somewhere a shoesaholic would hide her stash, not wanting her mom to know about her recent purchase)

It's Only Wednesday..

.. but I'm already looking forward to the weekend!

Clockwise from top left: Playing with Ean the nephew, getting my Golden Half,
meeting up with Zara to pass her shoes that have been with me forever lol,
International Career Fair at MidValley.

Gosh. I don't know what I want to do after I graduate. And graduation is only 4 months away!
I am fervently hoping that I won't fail any subjects this semester. I already have my graduation baju kebaya tailor-made!
But then again, that surely means that I somehow, subconsciously know that I'm going to graduate, right?

using Photoshop haha.

A Super Excited Come-Back Post

Do you know that feeling when the crush you've been (not so) secretly eyeing for the longest time EVER finally comes up to you and says 'Hi'?

Do you know that feeling when you find out that that said crush who's been attached to some lucky girl since forever, finally becomes single and back on the market again, AND he texts/calls you wanting to hang out/have a coffee/go watch a (romantic) movie together/have a nice walk on the beach/--insertanymushycutesweetactivitieshere-- with YOU?

Do you know that feeling when the same crush asks you to be with him after going on that date, revealing the fact that the feeling you've been having towards him all these while is mutual, where he's also been crushing on you since like, forever?

Do you?

Do you really?

Well I do.

I am so over the moon right now.
XD

Ladies and gentlemen, meet my crush,
who just in a few days time,

That, my friends, is LOVE. :)

LOVE like you never know before.

LOVE that strikes you breathless, before you even know of its power.

LOVE that can keep you up all night.
(okay, that was cheesy, using a line from a BSB song)

I don't know why I referred to it as a masculine entity, but whatever.
I'm trying to express the ohmygoshI'msoinloverightnow feeling :)

It (almost) didn't hurt forking out the cash to get these babies.

What's a truckload of cash (not really) when you get to own the LOVE of your (current) life?
Spending seems to come so easily when something you LOVE keeps crossing your mind oh-so-frequently.
(I dreamt of them 3 times so far, and I was so mightily euphoric wearing them in those dreams)

They are already at the customs now, and will come into my eternal possession in 2 or 3 days, which feels like years.

I just can't wait to get my hands on them.

If you are as obsessed about shoes as I am, you know the feeling.

:)

Here's to the safe arrival of the LOVE of my life!

*grins like a maniac*

It's One Of Those Times.

I feel a sharp stab in my chest every time I look at his Facebook profile (other people might call it 'stalk').

A longing.
A regret.
A wish.

And I'll never get to talk to him again.

All because of how I acted before.

Fab Heels

Some women (and Miss Jays of the world) can't live without their heels, while most men and some women will be glad to see these bunion-causing invention face extinction.

Why do some people hate heels?
  • they can cause foot pain
  • they can create foot deformities, including hammertoes and bunions
  • they can cause an unsteady gait
  • they can shorten the wearer's stride
  • they can render the wearer unable to run
  • The altered forces at the knee caused by walking in high heels, may predispose to degenerative changes in the knee joint.
However, to an experienced heel wearer, heels are a god-sent, because:
  • they change the angle of the foot with respect to the lower leg, which accentuates the appearance of calves
  • they change the wearer's posture, requiring a more upright carriage and altering the gait in what is often considered a seductive fashion.
  • they make the wearer appear taller
  • they cause the wearer's legs to look longer
  • they make the foot appear smaller
  • they make the wearer's glutial muscles more defined while wearing tight pants
(FYI, these are not my words. They're from Wikipedia. I would never use words like 'gait' and 'glutial'.)

For me, heels should only be worn when you're not going to spend the entire day walking in them. This invention which originated in France as male footwear around 1500s, can cause you to lose your footing when you've walked around in them for 6 hours straight. Trust me, I did stumble for a bit somewhere in MidValley a while back after I've spent the entire shopping trip strutting in them. Well, at first, I could say I strutted. But, after the fourth hour, I wobbled. No amount of sitting down every 10 minutes could spare me the pain in my soles that throbbed like crazy.

The heels should also be of a perfect fit with both sides of your feet. Everyone knows that one foot is always bigger than the other. Your big toes and small toes should not be squashed closely to each other e.g. one toe is on top of another when you don your heels. For a while, it may not feel like a toe is being cut off, but over time, your feet will suffer. And remember, when your feet suffer, you suffer too. And it might be obvious to other people around you that you're hurting.
Never, ever buy heels (or any pair of shoes for that matter) because the design/color/brand/embellishment/whatever caught your eye from afar, but when you try them on, it feels weird. Forcing your feet to fit into those babies which are one size smaller is not going to do anything good to anybody, except the store that sells them. Go with your guts and feelings. If they don't feel right, they're not right for you. They're not the pair for you. Let some other girl (or Miss Jay) have them.

But for the time being, I like flats more.

Random #1

Nak tiru kamu la Gen.
Summary of my life, for now.

Raindrops.
Cold.
Gloomy.
Stomach rumbling 24/7.
Craving for delicious AND cheap food.
But Kuantan is no KL.
Isolated.
Not that many classes.
Brain-dead.
Need excitement.
Wanna go see movies.
But currently showing ones are blergh.
Wanna live in the US,for the sole purpose of buying gorgeous shoes.
But this is impossible.
Coz I'm broke.
Have to save money for important stuff.
Like textbooks.
And shoes.
Haha. The irony of life.
You always want the thing you cannot get.
But once you have it, you want other things.
Like guys.
But not that particular guy.
Always want him.
But will never have him.
Damn.
Gloomy days only aggravate this kind of feelings.
