I've abandoned this space for a long, long time. It's not that I don't have time. I have lots of time to kill. It's just that I kill my time by doing random things that do not benefit myself, at all. What, you ask? Let's see.
1. When I get online, I surf mindlessly. Literally. 99% of the time I spend online, I don't even remember the things I do, the websites I visited. The other 1% is usually spent on Facebook, which I'd be turning senile if I can't remember that. Well, okay, that's a lie. Facebook takes about 75% of my time online, but who's keeping track, right?
2. If I am not stalking people on Facebook, I sleep. But I'm not what people would call a 'day sleeper', so that means we're back to Facebook. And mindless surfing.
3. If I'm not sleeping or on Facebook, I am thinking of what to have for dinner. Yes, it's very frustrating to think of what to eat where I am here. Dinner is a big thing for me, but being in Kuantan does not really help with the gastronomical experience. It's either swallowing whatever is served to you at the communal cafetarias, or eating out. And eating out is another problem here, because of the resulting headaches you will get after you get back to the hostel. Stupid admin. They can build a humongous new building that's barely occupied, and they can't even improve on the student's welfare?
That pretty much sums up what I do here (other than going to lectures, worrying about assignments and presentations and other mundane student stuffs).
Sometimes I think I was born to be famous for no reason, like Jon from Jon&Kate-plus eight or that quiet guy from my course, who one day suddenly became The Guy every girl wants to be with, and every guy wants to be like.
Except that I'm a girl. In that case, I'll be Paris Hilton.
I wonder what she's famous for.
I am making this blog of mine private and confidential due to several personal reasons in a couple of days, but I might open it again for public viewing later in the future. Only a select people can have access to it.
So, if you want to be one of the few (walaupun selalu rasa macam membebel sorang2 je), leave me a comment with your e-mail address. Thank you. Even 1, even 10 (perasan), even 100 (haha lagi la perasan), leave a comment.
p/s: I am so making myself a bib necklace. I just have to get some fabric and beads and stuff. Oh, and learn how to sew.
Note: All photos are taken from their respective owners on etsy. Some are copyrighted (not that I'm gonna be able to reproduce a similar-looking one myself, considering how I can't even sew!)
I should be studying for the Management midterm paper tomorrow, but.. yeah, I'm a total procastinator. Maybe I'll start in an hour or two. Or ten? Haha. Actually, the real reason why I'm writing this entry (after what might seemed like a million days in blog time, but is actually only 10 days) is because I wanna share this guy with you, erm, guys.
Introducing.. Kwon JiYong a.k.a G-Dragon!
This is one super-talented guy. He's a rapper, singer, dancer, composer and producer in Big Bang, the Korean boyband. Their songs are awesome, and their performances are bangin'! In fact, all I ever listen to these days are their songs from all their albums and EPs, Korean and Japanese (yes, they can sing in Japanese. And English too, although not that many songs are sung in English, 'tho). No Western artists for me, for now. Backstreet Boys, Joshua Radin and Copeland can take the backseat for a while. It doesn't matter that I don't have an inkling what Big Bang is singing about at first, but Google is your best friend here!
JiYong oppa (although he's 21 this year/22 in Korean age, and I'm 22 :P) is a natural-born leader. He's fierce, he's funny, he's nice. He's all sugar AND spice. He's everything awesome rolled into one perfect person! He can be goofy, he can be serious. He likes it when people/fans call him 'Kwon Leader', and nobody can say he's tooting his own horn, because he is indeed a leader, and a determined one at that! He keeps everyone else in check. When at work and the atmosphere gets too playful, he brings back seriousness into the scene. When the atmosphere gets too somber, he injects some fun into it. He balances everything out.
His fashion sense is always evolving, changing every minute. One minute he's cute and preppy, the next he's all gangsta'd-up. Or even just plain weird. But then again, this is G-Dragon we're talking about. He never stays with one style. He's always changing, like Madonna, but the only difference is, it works everytime for him!
Have a look at SOME of his hairstyle changes in the past 3 years since Big Bang first debuted. If he ain't no chameleon, I don't know what you call it!
G-Dragon has been in K-pop industry forever. He has been trained by YG Entertainment since he was 12. He had worked with many YG Family members, including the hip hop group Jinusean. And recently, he just came out with his solo album, Heartbreaker. True in Kwon Leadah's way (that wasn't a typo), he reinvented himself, yet again. This time, he went PLATINUM BLONDE. Instant love, y'all!
It's a hybrid of Twilight, Death Note and Lady Gaga. But as always, it works for him! The above pictures are the concept photos for Heartbreaker. They are just awesome, for lack of a better word. The ice-y blonde hair, the pale skin, the apple, the red-black-white-blue theme of the MV (see below) and the serious expressions just hit gold. He's breaking hearts of girls (and guys) everywhere with the androgynous look. Within 2 days of release, Heartbreaker sold 30k copies, and I'm pretty sure it was the #1 most-downloaded albums at illegal download sites!
You must check out his Heartbreaker MV! *spazzes*
I've watched this a million times now, and my favorite outfit on him is when he was wearing the vest with the mirror pieces. And being somebody who can't resist anything that's blinged out, I would say that, is sheer awesomeness!
The song is ultra catchy, and the set looks perfect! :D
The marketing/creative/whatever people responsible for the album package came up with a unique idea: using JiYong's own face impression!
I soo want one, but I have no idea where I can buy it from, and I don't want to order it online.. :(
The whole album is bangin'!
And now, I'm gonna leave you with this image that made me think what's really on JiYong oppa's mind:
The name 'Golden Half' came from a 70's half Japanese-breed girl band.
They were always dressed skimpily while on stage, which I find weird, because I thought Japanese people back then were reserved haha. Watch this YouTube clip:
And, I will be documenting my experiences in using the new toy over at the new blog.
Feel free to leave a comment (or two), okay!
Guys (of the male kind), do you have a close female friend? And by 'close', I don't mean that best friend of yours that happens to have the XX genes. It's the other 'girl friend'.
So if you do have one, take notes. You need to know this.
*All are written from the POV of the 'girl friend'.*
Myth #1: We love meeting your girlfriend, and of course she’s welcome to join us at the movies (substitute dinner, lunch, etc., or whatever fits your situation) Truth: We can take the “How We Met” story once, maybe twice if we’re not experiencing PMS or are a bit tipsy, but that’s the limit. We feign a smile and a nod over salad and champagne as we watch you two hold hands, but inside we’re mentally writing our grocery list, thinking about that work proposal or counting the number of freckles on her forehead. Has she had Botox or ‘work’ done? You’re so in love. We get it.
Myth #2: We never compare ourselves to your lady love. Why would we be so insecure and shallow? Truth: The minute I heard about Megan, I did the only logical thing. I furiously Googled her and looked for her on MySpace and Facebook. I just had to see this vision of perfection. What color was her hair? Was her skin creamier than mine? I did everything short of e-stalking but came up empty-handed. The thing is, though, we do it all in secret. If you ever ask us, we remark, “Of course not. What am I? Jealous? Pfft. Someone sure thinks highly of himself, doesn’t he?”
Myth #3: We never drift off during the day and daydream about the day you two break up. For good. Truth: Women are natural predators. We want to be top dog. It’s just in our nature. Even I’ve been guilty of this. The whole storming in on the wedding scene in Four Weddings and a Funeral has always held special meaning for me. Now I know why. And don’t even get me started on My Best Friend’s Wedding. We may like you two separately, but together…well, we secretly hoped that would end eventually. And by eventually, we really mean soon. Very soon.
Myth #4: We’re definitely NOT in love with you. Platonic friendships are soooo 2009. Truth: Women have no trouble dishing dirt and secrets with their girlfriends a la Sex & The City. But with members of the opposite sex, we become mumbling mutes, heavy on the mute side. We have enough trouble admitting our feelings to ourselves, so guys, if a female friend gives that awkward laugh and says “Of course I don’t have feelings for you,” chances are she’s this close to making out with you like two lonely high schoolers. I don’t know how much clearer we can make it.
All shamelessly copied and pasted from Melissa Blake
I admit it. I was guilty of all four,BUTI am proud to report that there is no more pining, no more yearning for the pastI am totally liberated now!
.. but I'm already looking forward to the weekend!
Clockwise from top left: Playing with Ean the nephew, getting my Golden Half,
meeting up with Zara to pass her shoes that have been with me forever lol, International Career Fair at MidValley.
Gosh. I don't know what I want to do after I graduate. And graduation is only 4 months away!
I am fervently hoping that I won't fail any subjects this semester. I already have my graduation baju kebaya tailor-made!
But then again, that surely means that I somehow, subconsciously know that I'm going to graduate, right?
They still have not arrive in Kuantan. Still at the post office in KL! Dammit. I am so hoping to sleep wearing them tonight... :(
Oh, and one of the male nurses flirted with me (I THINK), when I went to donate blood at KOM today.
Kept asking about my name, where I'm from, whether he should go get an extra blanket for me or not blablabla. I almost told him off. Haha.
But that incident still didn't help to get my mind off of the fact that I'm only gonna get my babies on Monday!
Do you know that feeling when the crush you've been (not so) secretly eyeing for the longest time EVER finally comes up to you and says 'Hi'?
Do you know that feeling when you find out that that said crush who's been attached to some lucky girl since forever, finally becomes single and back on the market again, AND he texts/calls you wanting to hang out/have a coffee/go watch a (romantic) movie together/have a nice walk on the beach/--insertanymushycutesweetactivitieshere-- with YOU?
Do you know that feeling when the same crush asks you to be with him after going on that date, revealing the fact that the feeling you've been having towards him all these while is mutual, where he's also been crushing on you since like, forever?
Do you?
Do you really?
Well I do.
I am so over the moon right now. XD
Ladies and gentlemen, meet my crush, who just in a few days time, will become my OTHER HALF.
*You'll see what I mean by 'a few days time'. Just keep on reading!*
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
That, my friends, is LOVE. :)
LOVE like you never know before.
LOVE that strikes you breathless, before you even know of its power.
LOVE that can keep you up all night. (okay, that was cheesy, using a line from a BSB song)
I don't know why I referred to it as a masculine entity, but whatever. I'm trying to express the ohmygoshI'msoinloverightnow feeling :)
It (almost) didn't hurt forking out the cash to get these babies.
What's a truckload of cash (not really) when you get to own the LOVE of your (current) life? Spending seems to come so easily when something you LOVE keeps crossing your mind oh-so-frequently. (I dreamt of them 3 times so far, and I was so mightily euphoric wearing them in those dreams)
They are already at the customs now, and will come into my eternal possession in 2 or 3 days, which feels like years.
I just can't wait to get my hands on them.
If you are as obsessed about shoes as I am, you know the feeling.
:)
Here's to the safe arrival of the LOVE of my life!
I’m feeling especially vulnerable these past few days.
Cases in point:
1) I was talking to the little brother on the phone. He was nonchalant and elusive (like he always did previously when talking to me on the phone. Which fifteen year old doesn’t do that?). And I immediately cried. I freaking sobbed my eyes out.
2) I SMS’d a close friend to tell her that I cried my eyes out when talking with the brother. She replied asking why I was so emotional, and I cried reading that.
3) Tired of having to string some words together to make a coherent sentence for the thesis (or I just couldn’t be bothered with the process, you pick), I decided to watch an episode of Boys Over Flowers. At every kind/brave/romantic/silly-but-sweet gesture made by the main hero (and the poor second hero – not I-have-no-money poor, but I-love-her-but-she-does-not-love-me-back kind of poor), I would tear up, which usually led to full waterworks.
4) I would cry looking at the MMS pictures sent by the grandma of my nephew (my mom), for I haven’t seen him in almost a month.
No matter how close you are to someone, you can never know everything there is to know about him/her. You can spend every single waking minute with him/her, or you can have countless heart-to-heart conversations with him/her, but you can never know for sure what's really in his/her heart. Like, really really know. Be it your boy/girl/best friend or a family member, there will always be something that he/she hides from you. Always. Even if you share saliva (same spoon for that sundae), you can never know for sure what's in the heart of his/hers.
No one is who they seem to be. On the outside, they might look like Mr. Hyde, but when you part ways and be on your own, they turn into Dr. Jekyll. Or vice versa. And even if they seem like they are the same person both in private and public, you can bet that there are still some secrets/facts that they conceal. However big or small, rotten bad or just innocent, hidden secrets are there. Gregory House always say that 'Everybody lies', or in some cases, they are just simply not telling the whole truth, just bits and pieces of it.
Revealing secrets is akin to stripping every layer of clothing you have on a busy street (not that I have any experience of doing it. It's just what I think). The act of stripping itself is humiliating/embarassing/mortifying, what more having one's bare uncovered skin exposed for all the world to see.
This may seem like ramblings of a disturbed mind, but whatever.
The point/message that I'm trying to convey here is this:
You can never completely know someone, unless you ARE that someone.
Wanting to sound like Mr. House, this is what I have to say: Everybody hides.
Rain, rain, rain on my mind I've got a secret life Wipe, wipe, wipe it away Nothing can make me dry
Fight all the while Fight 'til I think I'm free Feel rains we never see Beautiful secret lives
It can make you face all your fears It can make you face all your fears
Oh, smile, smile in a day Fear takes its place at night Oh, oh, I'm pretty in the rain I love your secret life
It can make you face all your fears It can make you face all your fears.
I could leave you well enough alone Believe and you'll be overcome and gone By grace away Better off than if I stayed I could leave you well enough alone Believe and you'll be overcome and gone By grace away Better off than if I stayed
I could leave you walk away We'll save it for another day Through all the wars I've come to know It's punches pulled, not towels thrown in
When they come knocking on your heart's door Choose the one who loves you more And when you've found something to die for (Make you face all your fears) They'll be knocking on your heart's door (Make you face all your fears) When they come knocking on your heart's door (Make you face all your fears) Choose the one who loves you more (Make you face all your fears) And when you've found something to die for (Make you face all your fears) They'll be knocking on your heart's door (Make you face all your fears) When they come knocking on your heart's door (Make you face all your fears) Choose the one who loves you more (Make you)
I am so depressed.
I thought I found my soulmate.
Turns out I was wrong.
Pfft.
p/s: And I'm also depressed because friends' links on the right dah gila. I did NOT do anything to make it go crazy like that. And I do NOT know how to fix it. Help.
Yeah I know that all my most recent posts are filler posts (thanks Zainab kerna remind saya. Don't quit blogging tau!).
But what can a girl do if she has no idea on what to write about? I admit that I'm often a silent reader of blogs, rather than actively leaving comments on the blogs/sites that I frequent or stumbled upon. I'm more of a reader than a writer, really. I read a lot. By a lot, I mean A LOT. But a few days (or weeks?) ago I opened an account on booksie and submitted my novel-cum-semi-autobiography there (hohoho).
A reminder to you guys: Don't go looking for me there. But if you do find me and think that really is me, do leave a note. lol.
I don't know why I decided to submit my stuff there, but yeah, I really did. The 'novel' is something that I work on, whenever the mood strikes (which is not that often). I just typed and typed whatever words/sentences that come to mind. With a bit of editing. lol. This thing is soo private (it's based on my own experience, with a lot of fabrications), that I have not even let my close friends read it.
It's not on par with any of Ms. Kinsella's many fantastic works (Can You Keep A Secret should come to mind). Heh. I know where I stand. I'm pretty sure I'll never be as good as her. It's just that it's nice to be able to transform all your thoughts and ideas into words, albeit those words being not that publish-worthy. lol. Currently, I've posted 3 chapters up there. I have more in my computer, but I'll see how things go. (that reminds me to check if there's any new comments on my 'novel'.. Okay, no new comments. That was expected! lol)
There are many good works on booksie. Being a kinda-fan of the Jo Bros, I particularly liked this one. 47 chapters. Yeah, Joe is so hot, I'd almost forgive him for being so vain. Almost. lol. What's up with the hair and the stovepipe jeans, dude? [Ben pun ade white skinny jeans!] And what's with you always having to be in the middle, like, every single time?
But if you're more of a Twilight fan (read: Edward), this one might be more of your taste. Edward's old school charm and chivalry gets me. I wonder if my own Edward is out there some where. *sigh*
If you noticed, I used a lot of 'lol'. I've never used it in my previous entries, but this time I did. Wanna know why? It's because I've recently been addicted to online chat rooms. Haha. Not mIRC. I don't have classes on Mondays and Tuesdays, so practically, my weekend stretched out to 4 days. To kill time, I go there and try to find like-minded people from other countries. [When I really should be drafting my FYP thesis]. These chatters use a lot of 'lol', and now I do too. lol. About 99.9% of the time, they are looking for 'cyber fun' (if you don't know what that means, ask other people who know :P ), but once in every 10 or so PMs, you find people who just like to make new friends. I've chatted with a mechanical engineering student in University of Canterbury (a nice guy who luckily is gorgeous! lol), a funny high-schooler from Sweden (sarcastic funny, not ha-ha funny), a bored housewife from Atlanta, Georgia (she thinks she's going crazy with her kids' screaming everyday), and some more others.
I don't really trust what they tell me, 'tho. Haha. It is possible that everything they told me is complete BS. But to be able to get away from life in Kuantan here, even though only virtually, is refreshing.
I've learned how to cook sloppy joes, you know. And snowboarding!
